Product Description:
Zinc Formaldehyde Sulphoxylate is a reducing agent, supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder that's soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. In textile processing, it acts as a discharge agent in printing and as a stripping agent, pulling dye off fabric without damaging the material underneath. That same reducing action is what makes it useful for controlled bleaching of textiles and fibres, and for bleaching in paper and pulp processing. Compared with sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate, the zinc version tends to get chosen when you want a slower, more controlled release of the reducing agent — good for sensitive fibres and finer discharge work. Handle it in a well-ventilated area with gloves, goggles and protective clothing on. Keep it sealed and away from moisture, heat and acids (it decomposes on contact with acid), and store it away from oxidising agents.
